CiuDaD De Los Niños
de la Inmaculada
Ciudad del los Niños is an orphanage of approximately 450 boys in San Juan de Miraflores, about an hour outside Lima.
In June 2007, we received a grant from the Presbyterian Church and Miracles In Action to begin the work of the construction of an automotive repair shop for the boys to learn how to repair and maintain cars and engines. More than $16,000 has been spent on equipment placed in an already free-standing building on the site. Classes for the boys start in April and continue until the end of the school year in mid-December.
Assisting us with technical support is TecSup, a respected technical school in Lima. Senior boys in the automotive program can apply and take the exam for admission to TecSup. Many companies, such a Ferreyros and Caterpillar recruit from TecSup and support their program.
