"CHOCOLATADAS"
PERUVIAN CHRISTMAS PARTIES
These parties each December are our special treat for the villages.  We bring panetones, which are fruit-filled breads, and everything needed to make the hot chocolate - chocolate bars, sugar, evaporated milk and cinnamon.

The whole village gets involved.  Open fires are made and big pots of water are put on to boil.  The women add the ingredients to make the hot chocolate while we cut the panetones into big wedges and spread with butter.  Tables and chairs are set up and people gather for the fun.

We serve the children first, then the adults.  It is always a special time for us to share and celebrate with our friends.
